Status of international mail. Parcel status. Postal statuses of parcels when tracking General rules of communication

  • 18.06.2020

To track your package, you need to follow a few simple steps.
1. Go to home page
2. Enter the track code in the field with the heading "Track the postal item"
3. Click on the "Track package" button located to the right of the field.
4. After a few seconds, the tracking result will be displayed.
5. Study the result, and especially carefully the last status.
6. Estimated delivery period, displayed in the track code information.

Try it, it's not hard ;)

If you do not understand the movements between postal companies, click on the link with the text "Group by companies", which is located under the tracking statuses.

If there are any difficulties with the statuses on English language, click on the link with the text "Translate to Russian", which is located under the tracking statuses.

Carefully read the "Track code information" block, where you will find estimated delivery times and other useful information.

If, when tracking, a block is displayed in a red frame, with the heading "Pay Attention!", Carefully read everything that is written in it.

In these information blocks, you will find 90% of the answers to all your questions.

If in the block "Pay Attention!" it is written that the track code is not tracked in the country of destination, in this case, tracking parcels becomes impossible after the parcel is sent to the country of destination / after arriving at the Moscow Distribution Center / Item Arrived at Pulkovo / Arrived at Pulkovo / Left Luxembourg / Left Helsinki / Sending to the Russian Federation or after a long pause of 1 - 2 weeks, it is impossible to track the location of the parcel. No, and nowhere. Not at all =)
In this case, you need to wait for a notification from your post office.

To calculate delivery times in Russia (for example, after export, from Moscow to your city), use the "Delivery deadlines calculator"

If the seller promised that the parcel would arrive in two weeks, and the parcel travels for more than two weeks, this is normal, the sellers are interested in sales, and therefore they are misleading.

If less than 7 - 14 days have passed since the receipt of the track code, and the package is not tracked, or the seller claims that he sent the package, and the status of the package " the item pre-advised" / "E-mail notification received" does not change for several days, this is normal, you can read more by clicking on the link: .

If the status of the mail item does not change for 7 - 20 days, do not worry, this is normal for international mail.

If your previous orders arrived in 2-3 weeks, and the new package takes more than a month, this is normal, because. parcels go by different routes, in different ways, they can wait for dispatch by plane for 1 day, or maybe a week.

If the parcel left the sorting center, customs, intermediate point and there are no new statuses within 7 - 20 days, do not worry, the parcel is not a courier who carries a parcel from one city to your home. For it to appear new status, the parcel must arrive, unload, be scanned, etc. at the next sorting point or post office, and this takes much more time than just getting from one city to another.

If you do not understand the meaning of such statuses as Acceptance / Export / Import / Arrived at the place of delivery, etc., you can see the transcript of the main statuses of international mail:

If the parcel is not delivered to your post office 5 days before the end of the protection period, you have the right to open a dispute.

If, based on the above, you did not understand anything, read this instruction again, and again, until complete enlightenment;)

AT this moment in China and around the world, the coronavirus is actively spreading, for this reason, air exchange is very limited and the delivery of parcels is slower than usual, but as of March 1, 2020, postal exchange with any of the countries has not been (completely) suspended.

Do not worry if the status of the mailing / order does not change for 1-2 weeks and is in the state:

  • Treatment
  • Awaiting shipment
  • Sent to destination country
  • Export / Export international mail
  • Import / Import international mail
If the package has already been shipped and is on its way, it will most likely be delivered.
While the protection is in effect, wait and don't worry, if the order is not in a hurry, you can even extend the protection period.
Keep track of the order protection counter, and if the package has not arrived within the time specified in the order details, extend the protection period or open a dispute.

How to track the movement of a parcel from abroad?

To track the movement of international mail (IGO), a postal monitoring system has been developed, the main tool of which is a unique tracking number - tracking number. This number consists of numeric and alphabetic characters, and is also duplicated in the form of a barcode. Modern postal logistics terminals are equipped with barcode scanners, and when an MPO passes through such a terminal, these tracking numbers are read and sent to the servers of the international postal monitoring system.

Thanks to this system, it is very easy to find out the location of IGOs. This can be done on the websites of state postal services or private logistics companies. In addition, there are convenient tracking services - trackers that combine tracking systems from many countries and private carriers.

What is a tracking number?

Tracking number is a tracking number provided by postal services to track the movement of your cargo. The tracking number is standardized by the Universal Postal Union and has a strict structure.

The standard international tracking number is XX123456789XX:

  • the first letters indicate the type of shipment, for example, CA-CZ - package with tracking, EA-EZ - express package sent by one of the international express delivery services, such as EMS, RA-RZ - small order package with tracking, LA-LZ - small package without tracking
  • then comes a unique eight-digit code, and the ninth digit is a test value calculated using a special algorithm,
  • the last Latin letters indicate the country from which the parcel was sent, for example, CN - China, US - USA, DE - Germany.

Official and complete information is available at the link (PDF document, English).

Use the form provided on the UPU website (Excel spreadsheet) to check if the tracking number complies with the standard.

The seller provided a tracking number, but there is no movement of the parcel.

  • Information may enter the mail monitoring system with delays. The normal situation is a delay of 3-5 days.
  • The seller provided a pre-reserved number, but the actual package has not yet been sent. Wait 3-5 days and clarify the situation with the seller.

I just paid for the order, and the seller has already given a tracking number. All this is suspicious.

There is nothing suspicious in this, because abroad there has long been a system for reserving postal items, which are redeemed in advance. The seller only needs to enter the addressee's data and print the finished form with a tracking number.

What information can I get from my tracking number?

The following information can be obtained from the tracking number:

  • method of sending MPO;
  • from where (export) and where (import) the IGO is moving;
  • find out the stages of the movement of IGOs - export, intermediate points of delivery, import, customs clearance, delivery to the addressee on the territory of the recipient's country;
  • mass of MPO (not always provided);
  • Full name and exact address of the recipient (usually this information is available on the official trackers of postal and courier services).

Judging by the track number, the parcel is sent to another country.

  • The seller mistakenly provided the track number of another package or mixed up the numbers. Please clarify this point.
  • An error has occurred in the mail monitoring system. The parcel will still be delivered to its index and address.
  • The seller deliberately provided a different track number, the parcel might not be sent at all, hoping for a lack of experience or inattention of the client. This is often the fault of Chinese sellers.

The IGO tracking number has a non-standard appearance. Why?

The standard tracking number of the form XX123456789XX is specific to national postal operators that are members of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). Getting a custom tracking number has several common causes:

  • the parcel was sent through large private delivery services - DHL Express, UPS, Fedex, SPSR, Meest, etc., which have their own internal standards for generating a tracking number. Usually this number has only a numeric format and is tracked on the websites of these services or on aggregator trackers;
  • the parcel was sent from China through local carriers.
  • the seller made a mistake when writing the tracking number. Here it is necessary to clarify with the seller the correctness of the provided number;
  • the seller provided a knowingly false tracking number in order to deceive the customer. This is typical for Chinese sellers from Aliexpress. In this situation, only a dispute will help.

I was sent an order through the national postal operator, but they did not provide an international tracking number. Why?

Not all mail items automatically receive an international tracking number. The fact is that all IGOs are divided into "small packages" and "parcels". A standard small package (package) is considered to be a shipment weighing less than 2 kg and a tracking number is not assigned to them. In some cases, it is possible, for an additional fee, to register such an IGO and receive a tracking number. IGOs weighing more than 2 kg fall into the category of parcels and they are assigned a tracking number, but even in this case it does not always have an international format. Parcels are divided into ordinary and priority (registered). The latter have an international tracking number.

Who should give me the tracking number?

In the case of purchases in foreign online stores and auctions, the tracking number is provided by the seller after payment for the order.

What determines the speed of MPO delivery?

There are a lot of conditions and factors here. The main ones include:

  • choice of delivery method - regular or priority (express) mail;
  • choice of delivery operator - the state postal service or a private express carrier. The speed of delivery by private courier services can be 3-5 times faster than using conventional postal services;
  • features of the work of postal operators in a particular country. For example, USPS US mail is much faster than Russian Post;
  • distance between sender and recipient;
  • from the time of year, weather conditions, cataclysms. For example, during the period of Christmas sales and New Year's hype, the flow of parcels increases dramatically and postal operators do not have time to process all the parcels on time. This leads to delays.

When exactly will I receive my package?

There is no exact answer to this question. In this case, it is much more accurate to operate with the concept of the expected delivery time. The website of each national postal operator has information on the average delivery time in one way or another to a particular country. Stores also provide this information when choosing a delivery method.

A clearer situation is with courier carriers - DHL Express, UPS, Fedex, SPSR, etc. In 80% of cases, delivery is carried out on the same day or in the next 3 days (if there are no problems at customs).

The delivery time for standard MGOs to Russia from the USA and European countries varies within the following time limits:

  • EMS departures - 7-14 days.
  • Registered parcels and parcels - 14-30 days (depending on the distance from the key centers of international mail exchange).
  • Simple packages and parcels - 18–40 days.
  • The average delivery time for parcels and parcels from China and Southeast Asia is about 21-40 days.

I was sent a parcel weighing 1 kg (for example), and according to the track number in Russia, the weight became 0 (or much less than 1 kg). What is it connected with?

This is a very common situation when, after being exported to Russia, the package “loses weight” right up to 0 grams. It's just that some sorters are too lazy to weigh each IGO and enter this data into the tracking system.

The second option is sadder. If, at some stage of delivery or customs clearance, the parcel has sharply lost weight, then this may indicate the theft of the investment. This is a direct reason to insist on opening the parcel at the post office upon receipt. A parcel with a difference in weight must have an appropriate certificate.

Parcel DHL Express, UPS, Fedex detained at Russian customs (sent to the store). For what reason?

The most common reason is exceeding the investment value limit for courier IGOs, which for Russians is 200 euros. You can read more about the features of the work of courier services in our articles:

Also, some courier services organize delivery only to major cities of the Russian Federation and, if you are a resident small town on the periphery and do not have the opportunity to come to the company's office, then the parcel will be sent back.

My parcel ended up in another country. What should I do?

There are two possible reasons for this:

  • The parcel is delivered in transit through third countries and the final destination has not changed. There is no need to worry, this is normal practice. Especially when delivered by courier services.
  • The seller mixed up the tracking numbers or incorrectly provided the delivery address. This happens extremely rarely and here you should solve the problem directly with the seller.

Delivery from China (Aliexpress and other stores) via Swiss Post and Sweden Post

Recently, many sellers on Aliexpress offer a choice of delivery through Swiss and Swedish postal operators. For many, this raises a logical question - what does China and Swiss Post have to do with it ?! The thing is that Swiss Post and Sweden Post have representative offices in China and deliver parcels from China with a transit point in Switzerland and Sweden, respectively. The Chinese began to use the services of European carriers due to the serious bans of the China Post, Hong Kong and Singapore on the shipment of Li-Ion batteries. Delivery scheme: Singapore - Switzerland/Sweden - Russia (other countries). The track number for such shipments is RXXXXXXXXXXCH for Swiss Post and RXXXXXXXXXXSE for Sweden Post.

You can track on the Swiss Post website www.swisspost.ch and Sweden Post website www.posten.se

What does the status “sent to airline” mean? How long will the parcel go after receiving the “sent to airline” status?

“Sent to airline” is the last status that a package can receive while in China. Once the package has received the status of “sent to airline”, it is no longer under the control of China Post. As a rule, the parcel arrives in the country of destination within 2-4 weeks from the date of receipt of the "sent to airline" status. Typically, the "sent to airline" status does not change until the package reaches its destination or is delivered to the recipient.

Be careful if more than 30 days have passed since receiving the “sent to airline” status, and you still have not received the package. Perhaps it was lost or its shipment was delayed in another country. In order for the seller or store to return your money, you need to file a claim.

What does the “Import Security Scan” status mean?

If your package received the status “Import Security Scan” (“Checking packages received from abroad”), there are three options:

  1. If the parcel was originally sent from outside of China, and the LOCATION column indicates a city in China, for example, Beijing, Shanghai, etc., this means that the parcel was delivered to China and will be delivered to the recipient after customs clearance. See the question How to get a refund for a lost package or a package that was delivered for a very long time.

What does the status “Import Customs Scan” mean?

If your package received the status “Import Customs Scan”, there are three options:

  1. If the package was originally sent from China and the LOCATION column shows a city in China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, etc., it means that the package was sent back to China from overseas. As a rule, the package is sent back to the supplier, and the recipient will receive it later if the supplier pays an additional shipping fee and sends the package again.
  2. If the package was originally sent from China and the recipient's country is indicated in the LOCATION column, this means that the package was delivered to the customs office of the country of destination and will be delivered to the recipient after customs clearance.
  3. If the parcel was originally sent from outside of China, and the LOCATION column indicates a city in China, for example, Beijing, Shanghai, etc., this means that the parcel was delivered to China and will be delivered to the recipient after customs clearance.

What does the status “In Customs-Control warehouse” mean? How long will it take?

The status “In Customs-Control warehouse” means that the package is in a customs warehouse awaiting inspection before export or airmail.

What should I do if the status of my package does not change from the status of “Export Security Scan”, “Export Customs Scan” for a long time?

What does the status “Success find: 0 items!” mean? or “China Post has not received the parcel”?

If you have tracked the parcel by tracking number and the parcel status is “China post has not received the parcel” or “Success find: 0 items!” ("Result - 0 packages"), this means that the seller (supplier) gave you a non-existent (invalid) tracking number that is not assigned to any shipped package in the China Post database.

There may be several reasons:

  1. The tracking number is wrong.
  2. Less than 48 hours have passed since the seller sent the goods, China Post has not yet updated the package information.
  3. The seller did not ship the items for some reason, such as "out of stock", but plans to ship at a later date.

To understand what the above three points are about, you need to know how the parcel tracking system by number works:
China Post can easily attach a label with a non-existent number to any package. The tracking number is invalid and the package cannot be tracked until China Post assigns it this number. Paypal, ebay and Aliexpress sometimes receive non-existent tracking numbers from many scammers who send these numbers to fill in payment details. Many marketplaces such as ebay or Aliexpress require the seller to ship within 24 hours of payment, so some sellers may provide a non-existent tracking number to avoid penalties. Later, when the seller restocks the goods, he uses the same tracking number to ship the goods, and by this number it will already be possible to track the parcel on the website within 48 hours after the actual date of dispatch.

What should I do if the status of my package is “Success find: 0 items!” or “China Post has not received the parcel”?

  • If you received the tracking number within 48 hours of shipping, you may need to wait two more days for the China Post database to update.
  • If you received a tracking number more than two days ago, you may need to contact the seller and check with him the actual date of dispatch and the actual parcel number. Tell the seller that you want to track the package by the number on the site site within 48 hours after sending, otherwise you will file a claim. As a rule, the seller gives a new tracking number, the actual date of shipment or the planned date of shipment, which can be checked later on the website.
  • If the seller again gives you incorrect shipping information or does not respond at all, you should file a claim with ebay, Aliexpress or Paypal and request a refund. You can also leave negative feedback about the scammer after the refund.

What does the status “Export Security Scan” mean? How long will it take?

What does the status “Export Customs Scan” mean? How long will it take?

“Export Customs Scan” means that the package is ready for customs inspection. As soon as the customs check is over, the package will be sent to the airmail.

What does the status “Arrival at inward office of exchange” mean?

“Arrival at inward office of exchange” means that the package has been delivered to the customs office of the country of destination. As soon as customs clearance of a parcel received from abroad is completed, the parcel will be delivered to the recipient by the postal service of the country of destination.

What does the status “Departure from outward office of exchange” mean? How much time will it take?

“Departure from outward office of exchange" means that the package is ready for customs inspection. Once the inspection is completed, the package will be sent to the airmail.

What do the statuses “NULL”,”PEK NULL”,”PVG NULL” ,”Opening” mean?

Some users, after searching on other sites, see that the sending status is “NULL” (“ZERO”),”PEK NULL” (“PEK NULL”),”PVG NULL”("PVG NULL") or “Opening" ("Opening" ) etc. In fact, these strange statuses are errors resulting from a mistranslation of the China Post database.

How to file a claim and demand a refund for an incorrect parcel number and a parcel that was not received?

Many recipients whose parcels are delivered by China Post often ask the following questions:

  1. The tracker site informs that the parcel was returned to the seller, but he does not confirm receipt of the return and refuses to return the money, how can I get the money back?
  2. The tracker shows that the parcel was returned to the supplier, or it gives the status "delivery failed". How do I get a refund from China Post?
  3. The parcel status has not changed for more than 40 days, I still have not received the parcel, can I contact the seller or China Post about a refund?
The answers to these questions are almost the same:
China Post does not work with the recipient directly. China Post only accepts inquiries and claims from a supplier who has an original shipping receipt.
So, it is better for the recipient to use the mechanisms provided by ebay, aliexpress, paypal and file a claim for non-receipt of the parcel as soon as possible.

Once you have filed a claim, the seller must confirm that the package was successfully delivered to the buyer. If he/she is unable to provide such confirmation, the money will automatically be returned to the buyer.

How to file such a claim for non-receipt of a parcel?
On ebay, paypal and aliexpress there is a link to a web page called "dispute resolution center" or "claim center". You can file a claim for non-receipt of the parcel there. All detailed manuals can be found on the website:

Is there any period when you can file a claim for non-receipt of a package?
YES. On ebay and paypal, you need to file a claim within 45 days after payment. On aliexpress, this period is 60 days.

What if I missed the claim deadline but still want a refund?
If you miss the claim deadline, then the only thing you can do is contact the seller. Big sellers with a lot of positive reviews are more likely to offer an option that suits you in exchange for a positive review. This will increase sales in their store.

What if I'm buying items from a site that doesn't have a "claims center" and I didn't pay with paypal?
Unfortunately, in this case, it will not be easy for you to get your money back, often impossible. Therefore, we advise you to buy goods from Chinese sellers on major marketplaces such as ebay, Aliexpress, Amazon, DX, etc., with a high level of buyer protection.

If you buy goods on little-known sites, try to pay for purchases through Paypal. NEVER use bank transfers, money transfer systems such as Moneygram or Western Union, electronic currencies such as bitcoin to pay for goods, even if you make purchases on well-known sites - ebay or Aliexpress, but from unfamiliar sellers.

If the trouble did occur and you paid for the purchase with a payment card, you can contact the bank and use the refund procedure - chargeback. The procedure is described in the article:

Check the status of your letter or parcel by tracking number. If there is no information on the status of the shipment, or the status has not been updated for a long time, your letter or parcel has not been delivered, and the forwarding time has expired, you can initiate a search for the shipment.

To start the search, you need to submit an application on the pochta.ru/claim page or submit it at any branch of the Russian Post:

  • an application for the search for a shipment in Russia or international departure;
  • a check issued along with the shipment, or a copy of it (the check is issued at the time of sending);
  • identification.

Applications for the search for domestic and international mail are accepted within 6 months from the date of dispatch. Applications for the search for international EMS shipments are accepted within 4 months from the date of dispatch.

The application can be submitted by both the recipient and the sender or an authorized representative of one of them (upon presentation of a power of attorney).

The Russian Post informs about the results of the search by registered mail to the postal address, or by letter to the e-mail address specified in the application.

The term for considering a complaint or claim and providing a written response is:

  • 5 days for claims regarding postal items and postal orders sent (transferred) within the same locality;
  • 30 days for all other domestic mail and money orders;
  • The term for consideration of claims for international mail can be from 30 to 90 days

In the event that the shipment could not be found, compensation is paid. The sender has the primary right to receive compensation, and he also has the right to refuse compensation in favor of the recipient or other authorized person.

Simple small package tracking

Small package - a small parcel abroad with unbreakable items. A custom small package, unlike a simple small package, has a tracking number. The track number of international shipments consists of 13 characters, it uses Latin capital letters and numbers.

Simple small packages are those that are accepted from the sender without a receipt and handed over to the addressee without a receipt. Simple shipments can be letters, postcards, parcels and "small packages" (parcels less than 2 kg abroad). Regular shipments cannot be tracked. Simple letters in stamped envelopes and postcards with stamps can be self-delivered via the mailbox.

Duty free import

Records mention a messenger system in the 10th century CE. Early letters were sent on a roll with a wax or lead seal; the earliest of these seals dates from 1079 and mentions the governor Ratibor Tmutarakan. The earliest surviving letter was sent in 1391 from La Tana (now Azov) to Venice

By the 16th century, the postal system included 1600 branches, and mail reached Novgorod from Moscow in three days. In 1634, a peace treaty between Russia and Poland established a route to Warsaw, which became the first regular international postal route in Russia.

With the Parcels application, you can find out the exact location of your parcel or postal item delivered by Russian Post in a few seconds.

In order not to be mistaken in the estimated delivery time of the parcel, you should know what this or that status means. On this page, we will consider in detail all possible statuses so that you do not experience difficulties in determining the location of the package.

Postal statuses when tracking shipments from abroad

Reception.

This status implies that the sender has completed all required forms, including Form CN22 or CN23 ( customs declaration), and the parcel is accepted by the postal employee or courier service. Simultaneously with the receipt of the shipment, an identification number is assigned, according to which tracking takes place in the future.

Arrival at MMPO.

MMPO is a place of international mail exchange. At this stage, the parcel is customs control and registration. After that, the service employees prepare a grouped international shipment.

Export.

One of the longest periods in the delivery of postal items. This is due to the fact that it is unprofitable to send a partially loaded aircraft, so you have to wait until a sufficient number of parcels are sent to one country.

In addition, in order to optimize logistics processes, shipments can be delivered in transit through other countries, and this also delays the delivery time.

It is impossible to name the exact duration of the parcel's stay in export. But on average, it ranges from two weeks to one and a half months. Moreover, on the eve of the holidays, this period may further increase. But if more than two months have passed since the receipt of the "Export" status, and there are no changes, you should contact the postal service that performs the delivery with a statement about the search for the item.

Import.

This status is assigned to a shipment in the Russian AOPP (Aviation Mail Transportation Department), where it enters from the aircraft. Here, according to the service regulations, parcels are weighed, the integrity of the package is checked, a barcode is scanned to find out the place of departure, the flight number is fixed, and it is determined to which MMPO the parcel should be sent. The duration of an international shipment in AOPP depends on the degree of workload of the branch and its employees, but on average it is 1-2 days.

handed over to customs.

After sorting, the parcels are sent for customs inspection, where they pass through an X-ray scanner. In the event that employees customs service there are suspicions of illegal transportation of prohibited substances or items, the shipment is opened and examined in the presence of an inspector and a responsible operator. After that (if the fact of transportation of prohibited goods was not confirmed), the parcel is packed again, an inspection report is attached and sent along the route.

Delayed by customs.

This status is optional. It is assigned to a shipment only in cases where customs officers detect a weight exceeding the allowable norm, a value of more than 1,000 euros, and other violations. In this case, the recipient will have to pay additional fees. If there are no violations of customs legislation, the parcel bypasses this status.

Customs clearance completed.

After receiving this status, the parcel is again transferred to the place of international postal exchange, where it is processed by the branch staff. In some cases, this status may be replaced by “left MMPO”.

Arrived at the sorting center.

From MMPO, the shipment arrives for sorting. There are postal sorting centers in all major cities. As a rule, the parcel is sent to the center closest to MMPO, where logistics service employees develop the best delivery route to the point of issue.

Left the sorting center.

This status means that the parcel went along the delivery route. The time it takes for it to arrive at the recipient depends on several factors, including traffic congestion, remoteness of the region, etc.

There are sorting centers of the Russian Post in all major cities.

Arrived at Sort Facility N.

Upon arrival in the recipient's city, the parcel is delivered to the local sorting center. From here, the goods are distributed to post offices or other points for issuing orders. Delivery speed is affected by: traffic congestion, weather conditions, distance. For example, delivery in the city takes no more than 1-2 days, and in the region, the shipment can be delivered in about a week.

Came to the place of delivery.

After the shipment arrives at the nearest post office, it is assigned this status. Further, postal employees are required to issue a notice and deliver it to the addressee within 1-2 days. In fact, this period may be slightly delayed, so it is better to use the My Parcel tracking service. As soon as you see the status "arrived at the place of delivery", you can go to the post office. It is not necessary to wait for notification, since postal employees are required to issue the item by identification code(tracking number). Upon receipt, you must have a passport with you.

Delivery to the addressee.

This status is assigned to the parcel after it is received by the addressee and means the end of the journey.

Domestic Russian shipments are assigned the same statuses, with the exception of those related to the customs stage and MMPO. Therefore, the information will be useful for those who make purchases in Russian online stores or expects a package from loved ones living in another city or region.

Now you know the interpretation of each status and you can not only determine the actual location of the parcel, but also roughly calculate the delivery time.

Very often, people on the site ask what this or that status of the package means. And if they ask, then you need to understand.

Postal status and order status for Aliexpress are two different things!

This article will talk about about mail statuses , also we have an article . These are different things. Order status is tracked in your . And reflects the parcel information within trading platform Aliexpress. And the status of the parcel is tracked in postal services (Russian Post, China Post, etc.). Do not confuse.

Not all orders can be tracked

Please note that not every package can be tracked while moving from the seller to you. This is only possible if she has a tracked track. But how do you find out before ordering?

In the case of Aliexpress - open, then click on the item Shipping

And after clicking, you will see a menu with information about delivery methods. The last column will display information about the availability of the track (Delivery Information).

If this field indicates Not available, then your order will not have a track when choosing this delivery, the parcel will not be tracked and you will not be able to find out the current postal status of the parcel.

How to track a parcel with Aliexpress

If this is your first time tracking a package and your package from Aliexpress, then read our article. If your parcel is not tracked at all, then read.

Please note that the article describes the most common statuses. In fact, there are many more of them, but other parcel statuses are much less common. And yet, for some private courier companies, especially in China, the same statuses can be indicated different words. If you have some kind of status that is not described in this article - ask in the comments, we will try to figure it out. Be sure to indicate where you saw this status!

Parcel statuses in the country of departure (for example, in China)

While the parcel is in the country of departure, it can have the following statuses:

  • Reception (Collection, Acceptance) - The parcel was handed over to the post office. It should be borne in mind that the parcel does not immediately begin to be tracked by the track number that the seller gave you. It takes some time to process the parcel entering the database. Usually the track begins to be tracked within 10 days.
  • Opening (The parcel has arrived at the transit point) . Usually, next to this status, the postal code of the transit point is also written. There can be many such statuses. And the order is not always correct. Probably the operators of transit points do not fill in the data immediately. Therefore, one should not be surprised at the status of Opening after the Export.
  • Arrival at MMPO (Dispatching, Processing) . In this status, the package is being prepared for export and shipment to the country of destination. For some transport companies in China, this is the last status that is tracked.
  • Export (Departure from outward office of exchange, Total Export) - means that the parcel has passed all the necessary procedures and sent to the country of destination.

After the last status, it may take quite a long time until the parcel starts to be tracked in the country of destination. If the parcel was sent without an international track, then it may stop being tracked at all.

Parcel statuses in the country of destination (for example, the Russian Federation)

  • Import (import) - the parcel has arrived in the country of destination. It is processed for transfer to customs.
  • Reception at customs – transfer to customs for clearance.
  • Customs clearance. Customs Release – the parcel has passed all the necessary customs clearance and is being prepared for release from MMPO
  • Left the place of international exchange MMPO - the parcel left customs and was handed over to the post office for further dispatch.
  • Left sorting center - the parcel is sorted and sent to its destination.
  • Came to the place of delivery - the parcel arrived at the post office. In principle, you can already get it. Or wait for notification.
  • Delivery to the addressee (Product Delivered) - the package has ALREADY been delivered to the recipient.

Please note that in the parcel tracking interface at the Russian Post, on import, the addressee's index is indicated. Sometimes, in case of an error or a fake track, it can be seen there that the parcel is not going to your post office. If the package has changed several statuses, and the index is still not correct, then you should start worrying.

Unpleasant package statuses

The package statuses described above are pretty standard. They mean that the package is on its way. Sometimes the package can get stuck on statuses, sometimes skip some, but, in most cases, everything is fine. However, there are statuses that clearly indicate problems:

  • Return. Other circumstances - means that something is wrong with your package. And it is returned to the sender. What is wrong needs to be clarified. Best to start with hotline mail of Russia 8-800-2005-888. After finding out the reasons and finding the guilty, you can think about what to do next.
  • Return. return customs - similar to the previous paragraph. Usually means that the address is not legible.
  • Unsuccessful attempt of delivery - usually accompanied by a clarification about the reasons for the failure. Inaccurate address, Incomplete address, Recipient dropped out, etc. In this situation, the main thing is to have time to run to the post office until the parcel storage time has expired - this is 30 days. Also check if the parcel arrived at the post office at all. Well, sometimes in the mail such statuses are put in general from a lantern. But it's worth it to control.
  • Return. Shelf life expired - obviously, you forgot to receive the package on time and returned it.
  • Sending Sending - the parcel arrived at the wrong post office and was redirected. That is, the parcel goes further. That is, this is not a problem, but you need to control the situation.

What do the letters at the end of the status mean (PEK, CAN, etc.)

These letters are often visible when tracking the status of a parcel on China Air Post. They mean the IATA designations of the airports in which the parcel was registered. Their designations can be seen on any service for purchasing air tickets (SkyScanner for example;)).

What does NULL status mean (NULL, PEK)

This status is visible when tracking the status of a parcel in China Post. These are just China Post internal statuses that they didn't translate into English. Therefore, where there should be a translation, it is not there, but NULL instead. If you still can’t bear to find out what kind of status it is, switch to the Chinese version of the service, copy the status in hieroglyphs and translate it with Google translator. True, this method does not always work. Sometimes in the Chinese version, some statuses simply do not exist.

NULL, PEK means that the parcel was at the Beijing airport. What she did there can be found in the Chinese version of China Air Post.

What does item arrived at OE in tne destination country mean

OE - office of exchange - MMPO, Place of International Postal Exchange. This is a normal status, which means that the package has arrived at customs and is undergoing customs clearance.

The track (package status) has stopped changing, the package is not tracked

Very often, restless buyers begin to worry when the status of a package suddenly stops changing. This often happens after export. It seems that quite recently the parcel was moving briskly around China, changing statuses almost every day, and suddenly, after some Export of international mail, Arrived to destination country and the like, the parcel stops moving ..

If you recognize your situation, then we analyzed this situation in detail in the article. In short, there are two options:

  • If your track is international and is successfully tracked on the official website of your state mail (Russian Post, UkrPoshta, Belpochta) and more than 2-3 weeks have passed since the last status update, then your fears are not without foundation.
  • If your track has never been tracked on the mail site. The status of the parcel you filmed in personal account Aliexpress or some specialized site for checking the track, or the track format in general is clearly different from the international one (the correct international one is something like this RR123456789CN). Then such a track often changes during export if the parcel is transferred to your state post office. That is, in your country, such a package travels under a different track (which you do not know, and, as a rule, you cannot find out). Well, the old track remains in the latest status. That is, there is nothing to worry about at all. This situation is the norm.

But be that as it may. Whether your package is tracked with Aliexpress or not, the main thing you should do is control the protection period and extend it if necessary or open a dispute.

Checking the seller on Aliexpress

Most problems with orders for Aliexpress can be avoided by carefully choosing a seller on Aliexpress BEFORE buying. There is nothing complicated in this and you can figure it out. But if time is precious and there is no time to understand, then use our service.

Finally

I have repeatedly written a personal opinion that when ordering goods from China, you need to be patient. No need to worry if the package does not change its status for three days, a week, two. This is a common occurrence. And on holidays, which are quite a few in China, everything stops in general. When ordering goods on Aliexpress, your parcels are protected. It is much more important for a successful purchase to spend more time choosing a lot and then control only the expiration date of protection. Than 20 times a day to monitor the movement of the parcel.

And use services and programs to control the movement of parcels. There aren't many different ones now.

P.S. from February 2018:

In the comments, you often ask what this or that status of the package means. Most often, the ambiguity of the meaning of the status is associated with a crooked translation of the status issued by the Chinese carrier. Often the current status depends on the previous movement of the parcel and it is possible to understand what your non-standard status means now only by understanding how the parcel moved earlier. Therefore, if you want to ask something about your package:

Write the track number of your parcel.

And we will ignore or delete comments like “What does the status of XXX mean?” Forgive me, but I'm tired of copy-pasting "Write a track, we'll see" into the void.
