Internet connected but no internet access. Internet does not work through the network cable from the router. Access restriction on public routers

  • 12.03.2020

The sudden cessation of the Internet does not allow you to carry out the planned activities - rest or work, because modern services and games, firmly tied to the Internet. The description of the most common errors collected in the article will help you find a solution and resume the Internet.

Before you delve into solving a problem that arises, you need to perform a basic check. Recommendations apply to all errors, and often allow you to solve problems that arise with the lack of an Internet connection.

  1. Balance check. Make sure that there are enough funds on your account to use the service. Sometimes providers change the cost of the tariff without prior notice, payment systems do not transfer funds on time, there is a failure when the provider withdraws money from the account.
  2. Check that the username and password are correct. Many companies connect the Internet via PPPoE and provide the subscriber with prepared data for authorization. Often the characters are easily confused due to the font, and some of the letters are not printed. Check with your provider. Rewrite the data in advance in a text editor, when copying, make sure that you do not capture the "space". Also make sure that you select the entire text and do not select additional characters if there is additional information in the file.
  3. Make sure that the cables are properly and tightly connected. Connect the wires carefully, which is important if you have routers or splitters. Install the cable tightly to prevent disconnection.
  4. Don't rush into radical decisions. Often, "specialists" working for the provider recommend reinstalling the operating system, while the problem was solved by simply restarting the computer. Re-do previously completed problem solutions. If the problem persists, reinstall the OS.

If there is no solution to your problem in the article or the described methods did not solve the problem, contact your provider.

Error 619

Reason 1: Incorrect security settings

  1. Open network connections.
  2. Select connection properties.
  3. Click on the "Security" tab and check the settings.

Reason 2: NIC connector not working or disconnected

Check if the network card is working in Device Manager. Make sure the card appears in the list of installed hardware. Install or reinstall network card drivers.

Error 629

Reason 1: session started

Often, when connecting, a double launch of the session is triggered, for example, the dialog box froze and you clicked connect twice. Or the previous session was closed incorrectly. Reconnect after 3-5 minutes or restart your computer.

Cause 2: TCP/IP protocol parameters not set or reset

Check the IP address and DNS server settings. Sometimes the values are set incorrectly or are reset by a system error. Also check that the username and password are correct.

Error 651

Usually the problem occurs due to problems with network equipment - a modem or router. Sometimes due to software or hardware failure of the network card. Therefore, it is necessary to double-check the performance of network devices. Details are described in a separate material available from .

Error 678

There is no connection between the computer and the provider's equipment.

Reason 1: malfunction of the provider's equipment

Contact your ISP and find out why you can't access the network. Check if repairs are being carried out, if a remote check of the integrity of the network cable is possible.

Reason 2: Faulty or defective network card/connector

During power surges or thunderstorms, the network card connector or the entire module burns out. If possible, install PCI or USB network card and check the connection. Often the problem is solved by reinstalling the drivers.

Reason 3: Blocked by antivirus or firewall

Stop the built-in or installed firewall, as well as antivirus. View program settings. Sometimes a high protection level is set to block outgoing and incoming requests.

Reason 4: the presence of viruses or OS software failure

Restart your computer, check your system for malware. Some Trojans deliberately block access to the network.

Reason 5: Router failure or breakdown

Connect a network cable without a router, check the Internet is working. If the connection is established, it is likely that the equipment has failed, is out of order, or the settings have gone wrong.

Error 691

Usually the problem occurs when the username and password are entered incorrectly. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts, the provider blocks the account for a certain period. You need to check the entered data and try again later, after 30-60 minutes, or contact the provider.

For more details on how to solve error 691, read our separate.

Error 711

The problem occurs when one or more of the services that are used to connect and keep the Internet running are not active on your computer.

  1. Open the "System and Security" section in the control panel.
  2. Next is the "Administration" section.
  3. Find and open Services.
  4. Locate the four services one by one:
  1. Enable broken services. If the service is active, replace "automatic" start with "manual" start. Make sure you are using an administrator account that has permission to change the status of services.

Error 718

Reason 1: Wrong login or software failure when establishing a connection

Usually, a notification appears when you enter an incorrect login, or the operation of the program responsible for the connection is broken. Therefore, you should double-check the correctness of the entered data, taking into account the case and keyboard layout.

Reason 2: The firewall is blocking the connection

Unlikely, but it's worth checking your firewall and/or antivirus. Sometimes security mechanisms are set up to prevent a connection from being made.

Reason 3: Incorrect modem disconnection or session termination

More often, the problem is an incorrect shutdown of network equipment or termination of an Internet access session. Do not turn off the modem when the Internet is working, disconnect and reconnect the cable while using the Internet. Another problem occurs when there is a power outage. The problem is solved, usually by turning off the computer for 5-10 minutes and turning it on again.

Reason 4: the provider is doing repairs

For some providers that provide services via a USB modem, this error is listed as "performing preventive maintenance." Contact hotline to the provider to clarify the circumstances.

Error 720

Reinstall network card drivers.

Instruction:

  1. Go to "Device Manager", from "Properties of my computer" or "System and Security" section of the control panel.
  2. Open the properties of the network adapter.
  3. On the driver tab, click on the update or uninstall button to reinstall.
  4. When the process is complete, restart your computer and try reconnecting to the network.

If the problem persists, perform a network settings reset.

Important! The next steps will change part of the registry so some programs will stop functioning. Such applications will have to be reinstalled.

Instruction:

  1. Press "start" in the system menu or on the keyboard.
  2. Enter CMD in the search, and then enter two commands in sequence:

netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt;

netsh winsock reset.

  1. Restart your computer and reconnect to the network.

If both of the above methods did not solve the problem, reinstall the operating system.

Error 769

Usually the problem is related to the modem drivers. Download current version drivers and perform a clean install. After, disconnect the modem, restart the computer, connect the modem and reconnect to the Internet.

Sometimes the problem is with the network adapter. Helps "shutdown" and then "on" in the "Device Manager".

Additionally, check your firewall and/or antivirus settings. Sometimes high or manual settings block access to the network.

Error 797

There is no driver for the modem you are using. Download the driver from the official website of the manufacturer and perform a clean installation. When finished, restart your computer.

Error 800

The problem occurs due to lack of access to the VPN server. Check if the local network is enabled, and in the VPN server settings, in the "computer name" field, the address is entered - 192.168.1.1. It is better to remove the connection and reconfigure.

Also temporarily disable the firewall and antivirus. If the connection is successful, change the protection settings of the programs blocking the connection.

Error 815

Under this number, the error occurs only on Windows Vista. In other versions of the system, the error code is different - 678, 769 and 651.

Reason 1: network card failure

Recheck the network card in device manager. Open the context menu with the right button, where select the "disable" item, and after a short time, "enable" the card again in the same way.

Sometimes you need to reinstall or update drivers. The absence of an adapter in the list of connected devices indicates the need to install drivers. If the installation process failed or the drivers did not solve the problem, the network adapter is probably out of order, and a thorough diagnosis is required. Alternatively, use an external or built-in network card.

Reason 2: Mechanical failure of the network cable

Double-check the integrity of the wires going to the modem / router and computer. Contact your ISP and request the ability to remotely diagnose the cables leading to your equipment/computer.

Error 868

The issue occurs on some builds of Windows 7 due to incorrect operation client DNS. Unambiguous and one-stop solution No, because every case is different. As an option, sometimes changing the OS or installing another version 8 or 10 helps.

Sometimes reconnection helps and after 10-20 attempts the connection succeeds. Also use DNS servers 208.67.220.220 or 208.67.222.222.

Conclusion

If you do not have an Internet connection, but you know the error code, it is easy to find a solution from this article. Some errors occur due to several reasons, so sometimes you need to perform several sequential actions.

In this article, we will deal with a fairly common problem when connecting to wi-fi - “unidentified network without access to the Internet” or “ network without internet access". Since the seventh generation of Windows, operating system itself checks network connections and, if there are problems with accessing the Internet, signals an error. The connection error message appears instantly as soon as the operating system detects that there is a problem.

When the message appears - error: " unidentified network without internet access" or " network without internet access» users decide to seek help from specialists, do not rush, we will try to independently carry out work on connection fixes.

On the territory of the Russian Federation, the IPv6 protocol is actively popularized, but compared to other protocols networks, the number of users whose equipment works with its application is still extremely small. Therefore, in this article, we will consider the features of restoring access to the Internet, where the IPv4 protocol is used.

Important: Determine the cause of the malfunction, then solve the problem

The main reasons for which there may be problems with access to the Internet. The most common are the following:

  • problems with the Internet provider;
  • user equipment (router) is configured incorrectly;
  • OS reinstallation
  • network protocols are not working correctly.

Problems on the provider's side

Important: Make sure that the services of the Internet provider are paid, because. due to late payment, access to the network may be limited.

It happens that a few days ago a laptop or computer was working properly, but during the next turn on, this error appeared. If before that the system functioned properly, and there were no complaints about it, most likely an error wifi without internet access appeared because of the provider. Before trying to do anything yourself, we strongly recommend that you contact a support representative. Practice shows that most often the error pops up during the technical work, in the absence of a sufficient amount for personal account or the data line is damaged.

It is quite possible that the support service will answer that everything is working for them now without problems. In this case, you will have to check the network, and if errors are found, try to configure the network yourself. In this case, the Internet provider will offer the help of a full-time specialist.

Physical connection and problems with it

Important: Check the connection of the provider's cable to the router, whether it is connected correctly. The cable must be firmly connected to the WAN connector until it clicks.

One of the common reasons, why does not it work connection to the Internet, is a bad connection of the contacts in the connectors, or a damaged network cable. If children or pets live in the house, the likelihood of encountering a similar problem increases significantly. Even if you use a router, do not forget that a cable connects to it. Make sure the wiring is intact. A strong inflection is capable of provoking a lack of connection. Look at the density of the plugs in the sockets, and whether they are really inserted in the right place.

Checked the wiring, plugs and sockets, but the problem persists? In that case, let's move on.

We are looking for a connection problem in equipment: router, computer, laptop

Router address: Start ˃˃ System-Windows ˃˃ Command line ˃˃ Enter ipconfig.exe

Reboot the router with the computer

Important: Routers, PCs and laptops can freeze from time to time.

Knowing about the problem of "hanging" and when an error occurs - " unidentified network without internet access» you need to reboot the hardware and try connect again. I do this: turn off the computer, laptop in the usual way, then reboot the router (you can just unplug the plug from the network and wait a minute, then plug the plug into the outlet), then turn on the PC, and then, once the system has booted up, reboot the PC again.

If the error has not disappeared, we connect directly to the computer by installing the Internet cable plug into the appropriate socket. If there is no result and the system writing without internet access Let's try to check the computer itself.

Checking your computer settings

Error - " unidentified network"may appear due to an incorrectly configured network connection configuration, or if changes were made to the network settings after reinstalling the OS: a problem with the correctness of the IP address

Check algorithm:

IPv4 double click with the left mouse button

Let's try both options:

  1. Obtain an IP address and DNS automatically
  2. Set static (manually set) IP and DNS settings
    1. IP address - 192.168.0.4
    2. Default Gateway - 192.168.0.1
    3. The subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.
    4. Preferred DNS - 8.8.8.8
    5. Alternate DNS - 8.8.4.4.

If the item responsible for the system to receive the settings on its own is not checked, check it and save the changes. Often, after this, the error of an unidentified network without access to the Internet disappears, and the connection is restored. If not, continue checking.

How to find out the network address of a computer - IPv4

Right-click on the connection, then go to the "Status" line, select the "Details" menu. The new window will contain several lines - in our case, an IPv4 address is required. The numeric value starting with 192.168 and following is the address of your network.

IPv4 computer network address

Another way:

Start ˃˃ System-Windows ˃˃ Command Prompt ˃˃ Enter ipconfig.exe

Windows command line, ipconfig.exe command

If even after that the system refuses to work normally, you still have to seek help from specialized specialists.

If there is no Internet connection, then this unpleasant circumstance can be preceded by many different problems, ranging from a broken cable to hardware software. For example, the most common reasons for the lack of a network are: incorrect router settings, cable damage or difficulties with the Internet provider, etc.

Therefore, the most important thing is to identify the reasons why the Internet is not available on the computer, and only by finding them out can you effectively solve the problem that has arisen.

You may just need to replace the cable with a new one and the problem will be fixed immediately. Below in the article, a computer user will find several common situations due to which it is not possible to connect to the network, as well as specific recommendations on what to do about it.

Where to start taking action?

If you cannot connect to global network, then you should identify the stage of manifestation of the problem. Perhaps the Internet disappeared after installing some program, replacing equipment and cable, or after the latest updates occurred software computer? If the user answers yes to this question, then it is necessary to determine these changes. Also, it often happens that the connection disappears after the intervention of the PC owner himself, for example, if he changed the router, i.e. the cause of the malfunction in this device, if the cable is replaced, then the reason is also obvious.

Internet provider

The very first in the chain is the Internet provider at the opposite end of the cable, so let's start with him. Often the network is unavailable due to problems with the provider. First of all, it is necessary to make sure that the user pays for the services provided by the Internet provider in a timely manner.

If everything is in order here, then you need to find out if the connection was lost before, for example, talk to your neighbors if they have the same provider, and whether they have access to the network now. With frequent problems on the part of the provider, the user has no choice but to conclude an agreement with another provider.

Cause analysis in a communication facility

Sometimes the modem notifies the owner of the computer about errors, and access to the Internet is terminated. It is necessary to identify the meaning of errors issued by the modem. Connection defects are especially common (cables, plugs, connections, not good enough contacts, and much more). It is recommended to check them by disconnecting and connecting again or replacing them with new nodes. If the reason for the lack of Internet is in the modem, then you will have to use the services service repair. If the cable or connecting elements are defective, they must be replaced with new ones.

When using a wireless connection, sometimes the operating system displays an alert “No Internet connection”. In this case, the problem is usually solved by updating the modem drivers. It is recommended to analyze the technical condition of the equipment without fail (if there is a burned-out board, if liquid has entered the device, etc.).

A computer

If there are no questions to the Internet provider, and the modem works well, then you should look at the computer itself. If the user has recently installed a new OS and then the Internet connection is lost, then you just need to make some settings.

You need to perform the following sequence of actions:

  1. Through the "Start" menu, open the "control panel";
  2. Next, click on "network and Internet" and through it go to the "control center. networks and general access";
  3. A window with information about the network and connections will be displayed. Here it is recommended to analyze the parameters: network map, active networks, local network. Find out if there are any changes;
  4. Enter the "troubleshooting" tab, even if the problems do not get fixed, the user will have more information;
  5. Open the “change adapter settings” tab, through it it is possible to enable network connections, analyze whether it is disabled, if so, then it must be enabled;
  6. It is recommended to try a new connection.

router

If the computer and modem function perfectly and there are no comments to the provider, but the router still does not connect, then there is a high probability that the reason for the lack of Internet is in this device. First you need to find out when the WiFi wireless connection disappeared. Perhaps the device was broken or the settings were changed.

If there are mechanical defects, you will have to use the services service center. If the router settings fail, the user needs to do the router software configuration procedure. To do this, enter the device parameters (using the address 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1, and entering the code and name "admin"). Check if the router is connected to the Internet, etc.

Change Connection Method to Dynamic IP

IP is a user identifier on the Internet. Changing the connection method helps if the PC is able to directly connect to the Internet, but an error occurs when connecting through a router. This mostly happens because of an address conflict. What to do in such a situation?

You need to take the following sequential steps:

  1. Through the "Start" button, enter the "control panel";
  2. Call the context menu on the item "connection by local network" and click on the line "properties";
  3. The properties menu will be displayed, through it you need to call the context menu on the "Internet protocol" section and click on the "properties" line again;
  4. Next, in the menu that appears, change the IP or check the box “Obtain an IP address automatically”.

Changing the router's IP

Since the router functions locally, it can have any “IP”, but it still sometimes happens that ips conflict with each other. Let's take a TP-LINK router as an example.

The algorithm of actions is as follows:

Problem with MAC addresses

MAC can be called a kind of passport or network card identity. If there are 2 identical “MACs” in the same ISP network, errors occur and as a result, one of the computer owners loses connection to the Internet. The reasons may be in the address of the router and in the address of the PC network card.

If the user is dealing with 1 case, then it is required to follow the steps described in the above section to change the IP of the router.

Different router models require different steps.

For example:

  1. If the user has "Zyxel Keenetic", then in the "Internet" tab, click "connection". Next, in the menu that appears, find the “apply MAC” item and specify “from the computer” for it, then click on “Apply” and restart the router;
  2. If the user has "D-Link", then you need to follow the same path of the above router and then click "Manual Internet Connection Setup". Next, click on "Clone MAC Address";
  3. If the user has “ASUS”, then open the “IPConfig” tab and go to the “WAN & LAN” section. Next, at the bottom of the VAN and LAN window, enter the necessary in the MAC line and click on "Apply".

Replacing the PC MAC will require the following steps:

  1. First, the MAC needs to be determined. To this end, through the "Start" enter the "Standard" section and run the "command line". Next, enter "cmd" and press "Enter";
  2. In the displayed program menu, type "getmac", click "Enter". The user's MAC will then be displayed;
  3. Next, through the "Start" enter the "Control Panel" and click "Network Connections". In the "wireless adapter settings" window, specify the required adapter and, by calling the context menu, click on the "Properties" line. Then click on the button "Configure";
  4. Enter the "Advanced" tab and click on "Locally Administered Address", then in the "value" section, type the address that is learned using the command line, and click on "Ok".

If all user attempts are unsuccessful

Of course, it happens that all the above actions do not lead to success and the computer, for some reason, does not have access to the network. Why this happens, there can be many reasons. What to do in this case? If the Internet is still missing after all operations, then it is recommended to start solving the problem through the provider. Specialists can do free consultations clients and often quickly find the reasons why the user does not have a network. As a rule, they deal with problems very soon, whether they are in a cable or lan, etc., so the situation when there is no access to the network quickly ceases to torment the computer owner.

Solving the problem through a professional master

A significant number of users prefer to do everything through professional specialists and call for masters who have a wealth of knowledge, experience and the necessary components and tools for repair (from a cable to a screwdriver), which is not always available to an ordinary user. But some people still prefer to get out on their own, and this guide should help them with this.

The laptop is convenient in that it has a built-in wifi module and you can do without pulling cables. But sometimes something unpleasant happens - the Internet does not work on the laptop. Let's see why and what to do in this situation.

Why the Internet does not work on a laptop

There may be several reasons:

The first is that you forgot to pay for the Internet, and the provider has limited access. Need to go to Personal Area(data from him must be specified in your contract with the provider) and check the status of the account. There is a connection, but the data is transferred very slowly? Maybe your internet speed was cut off for non-payment. Some companies do this. For example, Beeline or Rostelecom.

The second is interruptions from the provider. If the account is in order and there is money, try to find out if there is a connection in principle. To do this, connect the network cable directly to the laptop and check if the Internet connection is working. Not? Check settings:

In the case when you do not have a cable connection at all (you recently changed the OS), then you need to create it. For this you need:

Did not help? Connect the cable to another laptop or PC. If the network appears, your network card may have burned out.
If the Internet does not work on another laptop via a cable, call technical support provider and find out why.

The third is poor coverage. Using internet wifi with a 3G or 4G modem, or sharing it from your phone, there may be no network coverage at the point where you are and wifi does not work. For example, on the highway or outside the city. Check your mobile - is there a connection in principle. Wireless Internet on a laptop will not work with a far located tower.

Fourth - you and your laptop went beyond the coverage of your wifi router. For example, you are out of town in the country. The router is installed in the house, and you are trying to catch wifi in the attic, under the roof. Be prepared that the roof will shield the connection or just too much distance (in case of a weak wifi router). Try to get closer to the router. The connection may start working.

Fifth - problems with a wifi router and for this reason the Internet does not work on a laptop via wifi. Try reloading it. To do this, simply unplug its power supply, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in.

The sixth - the drivers flew off. Check if everything is in order with the software. To do this, go to the device manager and check if there is a yellow exclamation mark on any network adapter. In the screenshot, circled in red where the yellow icon can appear.

If there is one, right-click and select the desired command.

Update drivers.

Seventh - the network adapter is disabled. Hover your mouse pointer over it, right click. If you see the "Enable" command, it means that it was disabled for some reason.

Check all adapters.

Eighth - the wifi settings of the router flew off. Type in the browser the address http://192.168.1.1 (it may be different - look at the router itself) and enter the username and password (most often admin / admin). In the window, check all connection settings:

  1. Connection type (taken from the contract or in technical support)
  2. Network name
  3. Encryption type (WPA2/PSK)
  4. Virtual Server Mode Activity Virtual Server Mode - DCHP
    Basically, one of these steps should help you access the network or diagnose the problem.

Once again, we list the main steps if the Internet does not work well on a laptop through a wifi router or it stops working altogether:

  1. Check the account - this is often the reason why the Internet is slow on a laptop via wifi.
  2. Reboot the wifi router - it could freeze.
  3. Check your router's wifi settings.
  4. Check the integrity of the cable and plug it into the laptop and check the connection. If it has not been created before, create it. If the connection appears, the problem is in the router or wifi drivers on the laptop. Update them.
  5. Try connecting the cable to another laptop or PC. If the connection works, your network card is disabled or it is burned out. If not, it's an ISP issue.

Have a great day!

TCP IPv4 protocol - what is it and what is its principle of operation? In short, there are actually two Windows protocols that are responsible for connecting a computer to the Internet. Have you ever received such messages when trying to access the Internet - "Network without access to the Internet" or "WiFi connection is limited"? However, this text is also displayed in the Windows Network Control Center in the status . In this article, we continue to solve these most common errors that occur when setting up the Internet.

Network without Internet access on Windows 7 or 10

I will write specifically about WiFi, but the TCP IPv4 protocol error “Network without Internet access” can also appear in a cable connection. It also looks the same on different versions of the OS - Windows 10, 7 or 8, so the ways to fix it are universal and will help any user.

But before we fix the TCP IPv4 Internet settings, let's first define the situation in which the problem occurs:

  1. The computer connects to the router, but could not go online from the very beginning
  2. At first there was Internet, but then it disappeared

The Internet on the computer did not work from the very beginning

  • Missing or not included Wi-Fi adapter
  • Wi-Fi adapter driver not installed
  • Access point signal low (or no signal)
  • Incorrect connection settings

TCP / IP v4 - how to configure the necessary operation parameters?

Everything is clear with the first three points - I have already written in detail about how to connect a laptop or computer to the Internet. Also, a separate instruction is devoted to updating to a network card.

But let's try to figure out the settings of the necessary parameters for the operation of TCP IPv4. Where are they generally located?

If you have a Windows 7 operating system, then you need to go to the "Start - Control Panel" menu

Then go to "Network and Sharing Center".

If you are working with Windows 10, then everything opens much faster - right-click on "Start" and open "Network Connections"

On the new page, go to "Network and Sharing Center"

A page will open with a list of existing connections, or rather installed wired and wireless adapters. If your PC is connected to the router via cable, then we need “Local Area Connection”, if via WiFi, then “ Wireless connection". Select the one you want and right-click on it, then go to "Properties".

Configuring the Internet Protocol TCP IPv4

Before changing anything here, all you need to know is your computer is connected to the Internet through a router or directly with a cable from an ISP?

If through a router, it doesn’t matter via WiFi or twisted pair, then the parameters that need to be set in TCP IPv4 will depend on the network settings in the router’s admin panel.

If the DHCP server is enabled on the router, then obtaining an IP address and DNS servers should be on the machine. In this case, the router will independently set them for the computer and connect it to the Internet configured on it. If some values \u200b\u200bare already indicated here, then carefully rewrite them on paper, they will come in handy when further setting up the connection of the router to the provider.

But it also happens that the configuration of the local network in the settings of the router involves manually specifying the IP address on each device, or there are some malfunctions in the operation of DHCP.

In this case, if you do everything wisely, you must first assign it to a computer on the router, and then register it in the Internet protocol settings TCP IP version 4. Otherwise, when DHCP is running, the router can automatically assign the address you specified in the TCP IPv4 settings to some then another device, there will be a conflict of IP addresses and the Internet will not work.

But in most cases, in order to understand whether the cause of the “Network without Internet access” error in the TCP IPv4 settings is really enough, it will be enough just to manually enter the IP address, and then it will be possible to specify it in the router’s office.

How to do it right?

First, we set all the TCP IPv4 parameters to automatic, as I showed earlier, and save.
Next, you need to right-click on the selected connection type and click on "Details"

The DHCP server column will contain the IP address of the router.

If this server is disabled, then you will not see anything here - in this case, try using one of the two IP addresses - 192.168. You can find out more precisely from the description of your router model - here I give all the most popular companies. In order for it to be guaranteed to match what is specified in the specification for your model, you need to do it, but then all other configurations will also fail - be careful and do this only if necessary and in full confidence that you can then return everything as it was.

So, after you find out what IP the router has, go back to “Wireless Connection - Properties - Internet Protocol TCP IPv4” and enter the following data:

  • Gateway - router IP, for example, 192.168.1.1
  • Mask - 255.255.255.0
  • IP address - 192.168.1.3

Except for the last digit, the first three address values must match the router address.

Save with the "OK" button. After that, most often the Internet starts working.

About why it happens that it does not work, read in another article.

Wifi used to work but stopped

  • Hardware failure
  • Changing the connection settings for the Internet protocol TCP IPv4, including the conflict of IP addresses
  • viral infection
  • Network stack errors in early Windows versions 8

No matter how trite it sounds, the problem of errors when wifi writes is limited may lie in your antivirus. Yes, yes, its activity to identify and block potentially dangerous network activity can easily block the Internet, so make sure that it's not the antivirus complex.

In order to understand this, it’s enough just to disable all the protection modules of the program for a moment and try to go to some site - don’t be afraid, you won’t pick up anything on trusted sites in a couple of minutes. If it worked, then carefully study all the settings and set them to those values that do not block the connection to the router.

WiFi connection is limited by Internet protocol version 4 TCP IPv4

Now about more complicated things about setting up the TCP IPv4 protocol when connecting to the Internet, which do not lie on the surface.

First of all, the error may lie in, I wrote more about them separately. Carefully check the type of connection it has to the provider, what data the provider requires to enter in the connection settings panel. Also check that the router's DHCP server is configured correctly. All these issues have already been discussed in articles - be careful, any inaccurate figure or extra tick can cause a similar problem.

If everything is in order with the router, the PC is connected and turned on wifi adapter and drivers are installed on it, and at the same time you have the Windows 8 operating system installed, then the point may be that on earlier versions of Windows 8, the developers made a mistake in the network stack, as a result of which it was impossible to connect to the Internet via WiFi normally. This has been fixed in recent versions and updates, but on many computers this error is present and prevents users from working normally.

This is fixed by installing an update from the official Microsoft website, or another fairly easy way, but I warn you that you will do it at your own peril and risk!

Shall we try? We need to call the command line, for which we go to "All Programs > Accessories". We find "Command Prompt", right-click on the item and select "Run as administrator".

After that, a window with a black background will open - here you need to enter the following commands in turn, after each of which pr:
and successful execution will confirm "OK":

netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled

netsh int tcp show global

and check that all settings have the same appearance as in the above screenshot. After that, you can reconnect to WiFi.

TCP IPv4: Network without Internet access

It seems to have already described everything that is possible! But if, after applying even all of these methods described in two articles, the computer tells you that “Network without access to the Internet”, while the Internet actually works, then we make the final touch.

Even with a normal connection, this inscription may appear if it works through a proxy server that works on the provider's side.

We go to the "Start" menu and type "gpedit.msc" into the search bar and call this "Local Group Policy Editor".

We go through a long chain: “Local Computer> Computer Configuration> Administrative Templates> System> Internet Communication Management> Internet Communication Settings” and activate the following function here: “Disable active probing for the network connection status indicator”. That is, we put the checkbox on "Enable" to disable this sounding 🙂

This will disable system automatic scanning for an active Internet connection via TCP IPv4 protocol and the message will no longer be displayed.

I hope these tips will help solve issues about the limited wifi connection and a network without internet access.
