The essence of the work of which is to change the file hosts so that all requests to ad servers are blocked, or rather sent to the android device itself.
Ad blocking technique
The easiest way to block ads is to block access to advertising networks (servers), while the programs themselves with ads will not suspect anything, since requests will be sent and responses will also be received. Access restriction will be carried out by changing the file hosts which describes the correspondence of domain names and their IP addresses. By setting the correspondence of the names of all known advertising sites to the address localhost equal to 127.0.0.1, all requests will be received by the device itself that sent it. And since our phone and / or tablet is not an ad server, then programs with ads will not receive anything in response and, accordingly, we will not see anything.
Blocking ads without programs
As you can see from the above, to block ads, we need a modified file hosts. It is this method of blocking that is used in many third-party firmware, in particular MIUI. On which ads are not shown from the very beginning of using the device. That is, these firmware contain a ready-made modified file hosts.
You can create a similar file yourself using programs like AdAway. Or use a ready-made one of these very firmware.
My way to block ads
