The Baku Book Center was visited by Russian guests - pupils of the Center for Assistance to Family Education "Our Home", who came to Azerbaijan at the invitation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The guys, together with the director of the Center Vadim Menshov, have been getting acquainted with Baku for a week now. In addition to the book center, they visited other interesting places in the Azerbaijani capital and will soon leave home with a baggage of warm memories. Vadim Menshov is a member of the Council under the Government of the Russian Federation for Guardianship in social sphere, he is an honored teacher of Russia, has various awards for his 25-year pedagogical activity. In an interview "Moscow-Baku" Vadim Menshov spoke about the activities of the Our Home Center and shared his impressions of the trip to Azerbaijan.

- Vadim Anatolyevich, the pupils of your center have been coming to Azerbaijan for several years now, haven't they?

We are coming to Baku for the second time, for which we thank the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. We are friends with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, as well as with orphanage No. 1 in Baku. We come here to visit them. In turn, children from the first orphanage then come to visit us.

What have the children seen so far? What are their impressions of Baku?

The children came to Azerbaijan for 11 days, and they liked a lot here. Like is not the right word, they are completely delighted with what they saw in Baku! We have already seen a lot, got acquainted with the main sights of the capital, visited museums. We hope to see even more, although there is little time left, but we have Napoleonic plans.

- Tell us about your center...

In Moscow, the system of orphanages has now been completely changed. The Center for the Promotion of Family Education is a single center that deals with all family problems in the region. Among them is helping a family in difficult times. life situation, people who took their children to a foster family, as well as the school of foster parents, accompaniment of graduates after graduation. In fact, this is such a multifunctional center that has been operating for 7 years and has quite good results. Our main job is to do everything so that the child does not end up in an orphanage. Therefore, we mainly work with a family that is in a difficult situation, we help them so that the children stay with their parents.

I read quite interesting information about your center on the Internet - it was you who came up with the idea that instead of boarding schools, children would study in regular, comprehensive schools. What are the consequences of this decision? How did ordinary schoolchildren receive children from boarding schools?

We started preparing for this process ahead of time before sending our children to ordinary city schools. Explanatory work was carried out, in these educational institutions passed the lessons of kindness, we spoke to the parents of schoolchildren, in pedagogical councils. After all, a pupil of an orphanage is a child who has sometimes endured as many hardships in his life as an adult person cannot endure in his long life. Why did we do this? For our children to be socialized. The problem of children from orphanages is that when they leave for an independent life, it turns out that they do not know how to live this life at all. This home child sees how the family lives, what a person needs in everyday life. No one teaches this at school, it's all learned with experience. Therefore, I decided to send the children to a regular school so that they could live, communicate with their peers and learn from their social experience.
