DURING THE CLASSES

The concept of triggers and their scope
You can create various animation effects in PowerPoint. One such tool is a trigger.

Trigger -an animation tool that allows you to set an action condition or time to the selected element. In this case, the animation starts on click.
Trigger in translation from English means - trigger, shutter. With the help of a trigger, you can set an action for any object. Moreover, we can choose the sequence of these actions depending on the desire and situation. You can open the task as it is completed. Clicking the left mouse button on an object animates it, causing it to perform a predefined action. The presence of triggers greatly increases the interactivity of the presentation.

Create a slide with triggers

First we need to figure out what we want and create the slide itself.
Let's say we want to select input devices from the suggested PC devices. The rest of the devices, when you click on them, should disappear.

1. We assign to devices, except for input devices, an exit animation (for example, “disappearance”), and to input devices, a selection (for example, “swing”).

ADVICE. If you need to configure several objects at once, then press and hold Shift on the keyboard, and select the necessary objects with the left mouse button. By releasing Shift, you can adjust the animation. Then it remains only to set the desired animation parameters.

2. In the Animation Area, click on the triangle and select Time in the pop-up window.

3. In the window that appears, select Start on click. In the Switches area, check Start effect on click. When you select this line, you will be able to select the desired object. Click OK, for one number the trigger is ready.
So we set up triggers for all objects.

After setting up all the triggers, the Animation Area looks like this:

4. There is a possibility of an accidental mouse click past a configured object with a trigger. And then there will be a change of slides to the next. And there will be no opportunity to complete the task on the slide. To exclude this possibility, you need to uncheck the Slide Changer "On Click". It is located in the Animation tab (Office 2007) or Transitions tab (Office 2010).

You can set up a control button to move to another slide.

5. In the Slide Show mode, check that the configured triggers work correctly.

Creating a game using triggers

1. Present a clear picture of what we want to do.
In our case, we need to find tablets with numbers, with the help of which information is encoded in a PC and cure it. If the answer is wrong, the number disappears, if the answer is correct, it is moved to the first-aid kit.

2. Create a presentation. It is important that the tablets are separate elements. On the tablets immediately write the answers right and wrong.

In order for the animation to be set up simultaneously for a tablet and a number, let's make a grouping. Select a number and a pill at the same time. To do this, you need to click LMB on the pill (it will be highlighted), and then, while holding Shift, LMB again on the number. You will get the simultaneous selection of a tablet and a number.
Next, right-click to open the context menu. Select Group and Group again.
If you are using autoshapes, then keep in mind that most of them are already configured to write something in them. Therefore, when using an autoshape, most often, grouping is not necessary.

3. Set up animation. We will move the correct answers, building a path in the first-aid kit, the wrong ones - the exit with scaling.

4. Set up triggers for all groups. How this is done, we considered in one of the previous topics.

5. In order to avoid accidental change of slides, it is necessary to disable the Change of slides on click, i.e. uncheck the box next to On click.

The transition will be carried out by the control button (if you set it up) or by the arrow for moving to the next slide (in the Slide Show mode at the bottom of the presentation).
6. It remains to check what we got in the Slide View mode.

Creating a Test with Triggers

With the help of triggers, you can easily create test tasks on a different topic.

1. As always, we start with the idea and creation of the test.
Our idea is that with the correct answer, a smart owl appears, and with an incorrect one, a thoughtful one.
We fill the slide with all the necessary elements. Because there are 2 wrong answers, then there are also 2 “pensive owls”.

2. Next, we will assign triggers. Select the smart owl, in the animation area, click on the triangle, select Time. In the window that appears, select Start On click, in the Switches, check Start effect execution on click. Because smart owl is the correct answer, then we select the line with the correct answer, i.e. 2.6

3. We do the same with the “pensive owl”. We select the first owl, go to the trigger settings and choose the wrong answer, i.e. 1) 3. This means that when you click on 1) 3, a “pensive owl” will appear. And in order for the “owl” to not think for a long time and give us the opportunity to answer correctly, then for it in the same dialog box, select Duration (5 seconds very slowly) and check the Rewind when playback is completed. This checkbox makes it possible after 5 seconds (which we set in the Duration) for our "thoughtful owl" to leave us safely.

For the second wrong answer, you will have to repeat the same steps for the “pensive owl” and question 3. 8.

Please note that when selecting some animations (for example, emergence) window Duration, Repetition and Rewind at the end of playback inactive. In this case, you need to choose a different animation.

4. To prevent the slide from switching in case of an accidental cheek, it is necessary put away Check the Change slide on click box. And for the convenience of moving to another slide, you can set the Control button with the transition to the next slide.

5. In mode slide show Let's check what we've got.

Exercise 1. Create a slide using a trigger. Don't forget about copyright. If images from the Internet are used in the presentation, links to them are required.

Task 2. Come up with a game and make a slide using triggers.

Task 3. Make 1-2 test slides using the trigger.

"Trigger" in the presentation

slide 1

Good afternoon, dear colleagues!

“They say all geniuses are not punctual. So the room is full of geniuses. This complicates my task during the performance, but increases my pleasure from communicating with you.

I promise that by the end of this event, your presentations will be richer, more interesting, and most importantly, they will finally become interactive!

So, let's begin!?

slide 2

Have you ever heard the sonorous word “trigger”? At first glance, this seems to be something from the field of physics. Close, but not quite. Or maybe this is an island that is still unknown even to avid travelers? No, there is no such island on the map. However, why guess, let's look better at the encyclopedia. She probably knows everything about the trigger. Here is what is written about him in the Great Soviet Encyclopedia: “A trigger is a trigger device (trigger circuit) that can be in one of two (rarely many) states of stable equilibrium for an arbitrarily long time and switch abruptly from one state to another ". According to the smart book, a trigger is something like a trigger...

slide 3

There is also a trigger in Microsoft PowerPoint. But preparation computer presentations it has nothing to do with switches and triggers. So what is the trigger doing here? Let's try to figure it out.

The school often has to prepare presentations. The world of plants, habitats of animals, the history of computing, great geographical discoveries - a great many fascinating visual presentations! They are shown at lessons, conferences, forums. Some presentations look alive, meaningful and interactive. They want to watch. You click on the slide with the mouse: the flowers bloom; bunnies jump; the paths of navigators shine on the map of an intricate curve enveloping the continents. Other school presentations are a continuous alternation of boring text and static pictures. Their creators probably have no idea about the trigger. It’s a pity, because with the help of a “computer click” any performance will look much more interesting!

slide 4

What is a trigger? A trigger is an interactive animation tool that allows you to set an action on a selected element. It can be applied to any object on the slide (it can be a piece of text, an image or a sound). A trigger, like a button, is triggered by clicking the left mouse button, while at the moment the mouse pointer is hovered over an object, it (the pointer) takes the form of a hand with a bent index finger.

So that there are no ambiguities regarding the trigger, I will show everything with an example.

Explanations during the demonstration

Slide 10

Suppose you are tasked with preparing a game for junior schoolchildren. A small but responsible assignment of the class teacher, and it should be taken seriously and responsibly. In the game, children must choose berries from the proposed set. Vegetables should disappear from the computer screen as soon as the mouse “touches” them.

The rules of the game are very simple: when you click on a berry, the position or size of the picture changes, as soon as you touch any other object, it disappears.

slide 12

Invite everyone to computers

Let's create a presentation slide. To do this, I previously prepared the necessary material: pictures and presentation templates. They are in the practice folder.

After creating the slide, let's start creating the first trigger. In general, we will have as many of them as there are images on the slide.

How to make them fade when you click on the berries, and when you click on the vegetables, the corresponding pictures instantly disappear? This is what triggers will do!

Let's start by inserting pictures:

Paste - Drawing - Desktop - Practice - Pictures - Select All - Paste

Now all the pictures are in the presentation.

The next step, without removing the selection, is to set all images to a transparent background:

Working with pictures - Recolor - Set transparent color - Click on the picture (top) on a white background - Edit images as you wish (size, location)

ctrl + picture

We set an animation effect for them. The procedure is as follows:

Animation - Animation settings - Add effect - Selection - Transparency

Tomato in the same way select the picture, and then:

Animation - Animation Setup - Add Effect - Exit - Fade

Right-click on the name of the picture (1,2,3 ..) (on the right is the "animation settings" panel) - Time - Switches - Start the effect on click - On the right in the window, set the name of the picture (the same as the one selected with the right mouse button )-Ok

The first trigger is ready!

Similarly, we will prepare triggers for other berries and vegetables. This will add a hand icon to all images on the slide. And on the panelAnimation settings the number of triggers will be equal to the number of pictures! Of course, there can be more triggers, depending on the nature of the tasks they have to perform.

Now let's start the presentation (keyF 5) and see how it all works. Berries remain, vegetables disappear. Save the file in the Practice folder as Game

slide 13

One more example!

Slide 14

Start the Snowman slide. Write your questions in the finished slide, and make a snowman!

Using triggers, it is easy to come up with a wide variety of games. They are indispensable if you need to draw the attention of listeners to the presentation. They are useful for preparing training tests, test tasks, quizzes. What can I say - with the help of triggers, you can invent something else! Now, you are ready to create! And I think, once again we were convinced that: “A person remembers 10% of what he hears, 40% of what he sees, and 90% of what he does”

Good luck to you! How do you know when it's time to pull the trigger on a meaningful, interesting, and lively presentation? "Shot" must be accurate!

slide 15

Hello my dear colleagues! Today, on the page of my site, I post my master class on creating a presentation with triggers in Microsoft PowerPoint 2007. Undoubtedly, presentations with triggers are very interesting. They are already more like flash games, because we use animation effects. And if you add more sounds ...

In fact, creating a presentation with triggers is not that difficult. The most important thing here is to clearly understand the algorithm of actions. If you do the work several times, you will bring your actions simply to automatism. It remains only to apply your imagination and masterpieces of educational presentations and simulators with the help of triggers will come out from under your hands.

So, let's begin. Open PowerPoint and follow the steps shown in my screenshots step by step.

I will conduct my master class with the help of screenshots. Don't be afraid that they are so small. Click on the picture and it will enlarge (all the pictures on my site are also enlarged and can be saved to your computer).

Let's prepare.

First we ask ourselves: “What do I want to do?” In the example, I want the answer to appear only when you click on the desired number from the bottom row of suggested answers. And I also want the picture to change when choosing the correct answer.

So the goal is set. We are going to implement it.

Insert a record on the slide (I have numbers). We insert one number, you can choose any color for it and it is desirable to make a frame (click on the inserted number entry, then select the “Drawing Tools” tab - “Shape Outline”, select the color of the outline and its width, if necessary). We copy the number and paste it on the slide as many times as necessary. I have three answer options, the answer is in the example, and the example itself, which you just add later).

Let's start with a series of numbers that are the answer options. Let's set up the animation. Select the "Animation" tab - "Animation settings":

We set the animation for the number 1: according to the plan I conceived, the number 1 is the wrong answer and it should disappear when you click on it. Therefore, I expose the following animation: "Exit - Fade".

Near the number 1 in the upper left corner appears the number of the given animation. In the side column we look “Start - on click”, here we leave everything as it is. See below "Speed - Medium". You can change the speed, I usually set it to “fast”.

And now we will set to the number 1 trigger. In the side column, click on the arrow, a window pops up. Here we select "Time":

The following window appears. Here we select "Switches" - "Start effect execution on click", in the window we select TextBox 4: 1 (that's what I call it) - then "ok".

That's it, for the number 1 the trigger is set and when you click on this particular number, only this number will disappear. Now a palm has appeared in the upper corner of the frame with a number.

Let's take another important step right away, I almost forgot about it. In the main menu we find the "Slide Change" tab, here we remove all the checkmarks.

When setting the trigger, be careful: on click - switches - start the action on click - TextBox 6: 2

But number 3 is the correct answer. For it, I choose the animation "Selection - blinking", then set the trigger in the same way as with the previous numbers, just do not forget that the action starts when clicked (with this number TextBox 5: 3).

Now let's work with the number 3 (which should appear as the answer in the example. I have a TextBox 7: 3. I want the answer to appear if the correct answer is selected from the bottom row of numbers. So, set the animation for this number 3: input - fade in. Next, set the trigger: with the previous one (i.e. the answer will appear at the time you click on the selected number 3 in the bottom row), go to "Switches". Here again select "Start effect on click and in in a rectangular window, select TextBox 5: 3 (this is the previous one).

Now it remains to install triggers on pictures. You may or may not do this. But you, probably, like me, will want to add an element of entertainment to the presentation in order to attract the attention of the student. So, when I click on the correct answer, I want the first picture to disappear and another one to appear in its place.

1 picture: set the animation "Exit - fade", then set the trigger. It's the same with numbers.

Be careful with the switch: with the previous one - start the effect on click - TextBox 5: 3 - ok;

2nd picture: set the animation "Input - fade", then - trigger: after the previous one - start the effect on click - TextBox 5: 3 - ok;

I overlay the second picture on top of the first. Let's see what happened in the preview mode. By the way, it is better to check each action immediately in view mode.

Here's what happened to me:

Don't despair if it doesn't work right away. Personally, I started over several times when I learned to set triggers. If you have any questions about the master class, write in the comments, I often visit the site and will answer quickly.

Triggers in a presentation

You can create various animation effects in PowerPoint. One such tool is a trigger.

Trigger- an animation tool that allows you to set the action or time condition for the selected element. In this case, the animation starts on click.

Let's consider the technology of creating a trigger on the example of a simple game.

1. First you need to place objects on the slide. For our example, we add pictures of vegetables and berries.

2. We need to think about how the animation and trigger will be applied to them. According to our plan, we need to make sure that the vegetables are removed and the berries remain.

3. Set the selected animation. To do this, on the top panel slide show open Animation setup...

4. Use the mouse button to select the required objects. In the task area "Animation settings» click on the button « Add effect".

5. Assign animation to them: vegetables - exit animation (disappearance), berries - selection animation (transparency)

6. Create a trigger (switch). In the task area "Animation settings" you need to click the arrow next to the effect to open the drop-down menu and select the command "Time".

8. Press the button "Switches" at the bottom left of the window. Choose an option "Start effect on click". A list will be displayed. Select the desired element from the proposed list (to which object we apply the trigger).

9 For preview given task pane action "Animation settings" press the button "Slide Show".
