Space Moscow opened in December 2013, at the height of talk about the death of Moscow club culture. Nightlife was then buried by all and sundry, and the appearance in the city center of a giant, designed for 5,000 people, establishments then considered pure madness. However, behind this seemingly desperate act, there was a subtle calculation. A year later, people who put an end to the nightlife of the city started talking about a new dawn. Space Moscow turned out to be one of the culprits of this club renaissance. Persistently, month after month, the club "pumped" the dance floor, raised its audience and experimented with formats. As a result, over these three years, almost all the iconic DJs and musicians of the world have been featured in SpaceMoscow - from Carl Cox, Solomun and Sven Väth to Tiesto and Steve Aoki.

Space Moscow continues to amaze in 2016 as well. One of the most unusual parties of the year was the visit to Moscow by 32-year-old Frenchman Mike Levy, better known as Gesaffelstein. In May, he showed his rebellious show at the club, and this bold experiment was remembered by many then. In honor of its birthday, Space Moscow brings Gesaffelstein for an encore: show must go on!

Mike Levy's pseudonym has a deep meaning, it is combined from the German word "Gesamtkunstwerk" (total art) and the surname of Albert Einstein. “It's an extremely ambitious pseudonym,” Levy admits: “I want my music to be art, but Albert Einstein also talked about quantum physics. He argued that small things, tiny details change absolutely everything. I completely agree with him and in my music I strive to achieve about the same.

At the beginning of his creative way Gesaffelstein combined techno with industrial, bringing back the legacy of Front 242, Nitzer Ebb and DAF to Detroit. Then there was an unexpected collaboration with Kenye West - Levy made two songs for the resonant Yeezus album for the rapper. Black Skinhead, the fruit of a collaborative effort between Gesaffelstein, Daft Punk and Brodinski, became a big hit despite its extremely violent and alternative sound. The real apogee of Levy's experiments was the debut album Aleph. The video Pursuit can be considered the quintessence of Gesaffelstein's creativity. Just watch this video and you will understand a lot about Gesaffelstein...

In the capital a large number of places where you can relax. Among them there are clubs different levels. One of the legendary places was Moscow, which, to the deepest regret of vacationers, has recently stopped its work. After February 2017 in in social networks even the official representations of this club have disappeared. Information about its closure was only on the radio "Record" and in several publications telling about the entertainment establishments of the capital.

Sagrado Corp.

In December 2013, the largest holding Sagrado Corp opened another entertainment facility in Moscow - Club Space Moscow. After this franchise had to be abandoned, the company remains in the possession of more than a dozen of the most popular entertainment establishments.

Among the firm's projects are such names as ICON (which is the reincarnation of the famous "Paradise"), "Izvestia Hall" (one of the best concert halls capital) and Shakti Terrace restaurant.

A feature of the corporation is, perhaps, its success. More than 5,000 thousand club events have been implemented in recent years. Only professionals are invited to work in entertainment establishments. For example, in the ICON club, the famous Dj Miller is responsible for the musical accompaniment. Club Space Moscow (photo) was no different from other holding projects - eminent professionals worked in it, thanks to whom recreational activities passed at the highest level.

Club history

The closure of the institution, which has become a legend in certain circles, was a real blow for many lovers of nightlife. There are enough places in Moscow where you can have a good rest, but Club Space Moscow was one of the centers of evening entertainment.

Interest in it arose from the moment of opening, because it was created by franchise. completely repeats the institution of the same name, located in Ibiza. This resort has long established itself as the main trendsetter in club culture. The Space club itself, opened on the island, became famous thanks to its 22-hour dance marathons.

It became interesting for the public for several reasons: there were performances by legendary DJs. And the club was also a transformer, had a capacity of up to 6 thousand people and would be the only European institution opened under the franchise of the central entertainment venue in Ibiza. The location of the club on the map of the capital was also successful. Space Moscow Club had a memorable address - Kutuzovsky Prospekt, house 36.

Closing the club

The farewell party took place on February 10, 2017. On this day, Luciano, the legend of the club scene, entered the stage. He is the head of the famous label Cadenza, the organizer of the largest and most famous club parties, the hero of Ibiza.

This is not the first star guest on the club stage. Over the 3 years of its existence, the institution was visited by many eminent representatives of the club culture - both popular groups and artists. Domestic performers most often performed at parties dedicated to the nineties. Every evening of the club's work, experienced DJs (the best in the capital) rose to its stage.

The impressions of visitors from the last party are really enthusiastic, while reviews about the rest of the activities of Club Space Moscow can be found differently. The farewell party was attended only by people who bought tickets, and not invited guests, which helped to avoid the crowd at the entrance, which was often observed at other events. The staff did their best to ensure that the last night of visitors in the institution passed without conflicts and was remembered for its friendly atmosphere.

What activities were held in the club?

One of the most memorable events of this institution was the meeting in 2016. The Space Moscow Club this evening hosted the best residents of the Comedy Club and Comedy Woman, including the Chekhov Duet, which soon ceased to exist.

Aleksey Vorobyov became the host, and Yegor Creed took the stage of the club that evening. In addition to these stars, the capitals performed at the club party. The cheapest tickets cost 2,500 rubles, and a seat at a table could be taken for 280,000 rubles.

The peak attendance was recorded at the Space Moscow Club on July 30, 2016. Then more people wanted to get to the MegaDance party of the 90s than the institution could accommodate.

This date, by the way, is associated with a large number of negative reviews caused by the institution's policy. The fact is that there was almost no face control in the club. Almost everyone could enter. A large number of free invitations were distributed throughout the organizations, which caused a crush and problems with the operation of the bar and toilet.

The Trancemission festival did not attract a motley audience to the club. Information support he was provided by radio Record, so most of the visitors were his regular listeners. For the most part, people who were well versed in club culture came to the festival. In February 2017, the event was held for the last time.

In addition, Space often became a place for corporate events and presentations. In banquet mode, it accommodated up to 1500 guests. It hosted award ceremonies and other major celebrations, such as banquets for SMM professionals.

Where to go for those who bought tickets for April parties at Space?

The last parties in the institution were scheduled for April 2017. Tickets for them were actively sold at the beginning of the year, so the news of the cessation of the institution's work was perceived especially sharply. Many regular customers they started calling contact numbers and writing claims because of the funds spent on tickets.

The club's management reassured the visitors: all planned events will be held in the holding's establishments. On March 10, the Flying Circus party was held at Bessonnitsa, and on April 8, W&W performed at the Izvestiya Hall. Thus, everyone was able to attend the events they wanted.

Will the club reopen?

The need to stop the work of Space was due to the fact that the franchise for a non-existent brand had fabulous sums. In addition, the institution had to fulfill contractual obligations, although the franchise owner is no longer there.

These contracts dictated pricing policy and other rules established in the institution, which did not allow it to be better for the metropolitan public.
The owners of the club doubt that it is completely closed. Club Space Moscow may reopen its doors if the main franchise establishment is moved to another part of the island of Ibiza.

At the moment, the fate of the club is unknown. Most likely, over time, it will go through the same process as the Rai club, turning into an ICON, after which a new institution will open in the same place, working for the same target audience the same as before the rebranding. Only the interior decoration will change, and only for the better.
