Brooch made of polymer clay. How to make a polymer clay brooch? Materials and tools

  • 12.03.2020

I bring to your attention a simple master class on creating a universal decoration from polymer clay, which can emphasize your hairstyle or complement the look with an elegant brooch. Based on this lesson, you can create a blank in the form of a large volumetric flower, with delicate petals and juicy greens, and use this blank to create a necklace, ring, headband or any other accessory. A beautiful delicate flower, with a color transition from pale pink to white, will not leave anyone indifferent and increased attention will be provided to you!

Materials and tools needed when sculpting a flower for a brooch:

1. Polymer clay in white, pink and green;
2. Blade or clerical knife;
3. Rolling pin or pasta machine;
4. Weiner double-sided universal sheet;
5. Yellow acrylic paint and brush;
6. Liquid plastic;
7. Leaf cutter;
8. Metal base for a brooch and hairpin;
9. Stack with ball;
10. Quick dry glue;
11. Varnish for polymer clay.

So, let's start sculpting:

1. Take an equal ratio of pink and white plastic and lay it diagonally in a common layer. Using a pasta machine or a rolling pin, make a tape with a color transition from a two-color layer.

2. A long ribbon with a color transition must be folded like an accordion.

3. Shape the rectangular accordion cane into its usual rounded shape and roll out the cane to a diameter of 1.5 cm. On the pink side, pinch the cane with your fingers and cut into thin slices.

4. Lay the petal in the middle of the left palm and pull the edges with a stack with a ball. Then disconnect the petal from the skin, put it back on the palm of your hand and in a circular motion make a recess in the center of the petal with a stack with a ball, while the petal will take the shape of a boat.

5. Petals are needed to form a three-dimensional flower different sizes, which are easy to obtain as follows: the thinner the cut, the smaller the petal; the thicker the cut, the larger the petal.

6. We form an oblong droplet from white or pink plastic and string it on a toothpick or knitting needle.

7. Now we begin to form a flower around the droplet - first we take the smallest petals and wrap them around the core droplet. In this case, each subsequent petal must be superimposed on the previous petal.

9. Soften the green clay and roll it out on a 4 mm thick pasta machine and cut out five identical shapes with a plastic cutter or a leaf-shaped cutter.

10. Lay the petal on the surface of the veiner and give the plastic a veined texture.

11. Lay the leaves in a fan so that they touch in the center. With a stack with a ball, smooth the junction of the leaves in the center of the composition.

12. Carefully remove the flower from the toothpick and cut off the excess plastic in the form of a “tail” with a blade.

13. Lay the flower in the center of the leaf arrangement. To create dew on leaves and petals, you need to put small droplets of liquid plastic on the surface of the flower and leaves, and then put the product in the oven for firing.

14. Prepare a platform for a metal blank for a brooch and a hairpin - just tightly tamp the platform with green plastic.

15. Lubricate the reverse side of the flower blank with liquid plastic and attach to the base. Place back in the oven to roast.

Materials and tools:

Step by step description with photo

Now let's get creative.

Step 1: make coffee

  • Form a ball from milky polymer clay, which is then rolled into a thick sheet.
  • Using an oval cutter, cut out a figure from a sheet.
  • Cut the figure in the middle horizontally. From one half there will be a cup, and from the second form a handle, for which push two arcs on the free half with an oval cutter.

Attach the handles to the cup and turn the craft over (it looks better this way). In a round stack, write the inscription "Coffee" on the cup.

To make coffee, roll the chocolate-colored plastic into a ball, which is then rolled into a thick sheet. Use a round cutter to cut a circle out of the sheet.

With a wide edge of an oval cutter, cut a circle, as shown in the photo.

Attach the coffee to the mug.

Step 2: make cream

  • Form thin snakes from white plastic.
  • Fold these snakes in a spiral in the form of a cream (see picture).

Place the cream on a flat surface and roll it out with a round roller.

Step 3: Make the cocoa

Twist a white plastic ball, which then roll into a thick sheet.

Cut a circle out of the sheet with a round cutter. Use the blunt end of an oval chisel to cut off the top of the circle to form a cup shape.

From the scraps of the circle, cut a small arc, which then attach to the cup in the form of a handle. Flip the figurine.

To make cocoa, take chocolate-colored plastic. Roll it into a ball and then roll it into a thick sheet. Cut out a circle from the sheet. Using the wide edge of an oval cutter, cut this circle into a thin oval.

With a round stack, draw ribs on the cup. Place a chocolate oval on top of the cup. Place the cream on top of the oval.

Step 4: make tea

  • Roll out the white plastic into a thick sheet. With an oval cutter, cut out a figure from a sheet.
  • With a wide edge of an oval cutter, cut thinly the sides of the circle, and cut the upper part a little thicker (see photo).
  • Take one of the thinly cut arcs and fold it into a pen. Attach the handle to the cup and turn the craft over.

To make tea, roll out a circle of red-brown plastic, which is then cut with a wide edge of an oval cutter in the form of a thin oval. Position the brown oval at the top of the cup.

To make a tea bag, roll out a thin white cane and cut a small piece from it. Bend the cane into a hook. From white plastic, cut out a figure in the form of a house. Attach the hook to the house and place the figurine on the cup.

Polymer clay is an amazing material! You can do almost anything you want. The most delicate rose, without any exaggeration, will arouse the admiration of those around you with its grace and seeming fragility.

Master class on making a brooch "Rose" from polymer clay

Tools and materials:

Stages of work:

1. We take a piece of clay with a diameter of about 1.5 cm and add paint to your taste. Mix well.

2. Roll out the sausage with a diameter of 3 mm.

3. Cut into pieces 6 - 7 pcs. Roll them into balls. Get the size of a large pea.

4. We remove all the balls in a rag and in a file or cellophane.

5. We take one ball and roll it thinly with a stack.

6. Lubricate the resulting petal with 2/3 non-greasy glue.

7. We glue the base of the rose (ball) with the resulting petal, make a pinch on top, and remove the excess from below.

8. By analogy, we roll out the next petal and fasten it opposite.

Other petals:

9. From the ball we make a drop and roll out an oblong petal.

10. At the petals, we thinly roll the upper edge with the main stack for waviness.

11. Roll the base of the petal with a stack with a ball. We have it thicker, unrolled. We make a recess with a ball.

It turns out like this:

12. Glue the petals counterclockwise. The edge (side) of the glued petal is in the middle of the new one.

13. We make the next row of petals a little more and glue by analogy.

14. The upper edge of the petals of the last and penultimate rows can be slightly twisted down, wound on the main stack, like on curlers.

The number of rows is up to you.

15. We print the petals of the last row on the mold to give the texture of the sheet.

16. The petals of the last row should dry out a little. Therefore, we do not immediately glue.

17. So that the rosette does not fall apart without having time to stick, put it in a glass with a hole or stick it in foam rubber and leave it upside down.

It is better to glue the brooch to the base the next day. When the rose is frozen.

Glue on a piece of clay with PVA glue.

Here is such a brooch in action - as if alive:

Today we bring to your attention an interesting master class on creating original decoration. Earrings and a brooch made of polymer clay look gentle, modern and stylish. We know that many of our readers love to sculpt with plasticine with their children. Modern mass for modeling is something. It is pleasant to the touch, and the variety of bright colors is simply pleasing. How much pleasure it gives the kids to crush a piece of such plasticine, especially since it is very useful for the development of fine motor skills of the hands. But they played around, put everything in tight-fitting boxes and put them away in their place. And we wanted to do something more durable. Then the idea came up, why not make something out of polymer clay. And in the hands of the material will have to be crushed to get the desired shape, but ready product after heat treatment it will please the eye for a long time. So we decided to make earrings and a brooch out of polymer clay in the shape of a flower. See what we got out of this venture.

Required materials and tools:

  • polymer clay (it hardens during heat treatment);
  • something for the middle (we used a vintage earring for the brooch, and small beads for the earrings);
  • wax paper;
  • oven for baking;
  • Super glue;
  • glaze for clay;
  • something where you will attach earrings and a brooch (studs for earrings and a pin for a brooch, respectively).

Beginning of work

Prepare yourself workplace. Lay out the wax paper so you don't stain the table. When the product is ready, then right on this paper it can be placed in the oven. We take white polymer clay and knead a piece in our hands.

Flower shaping brooches

For the brooch, we roll 10 balls the size of the end of the thumb. For earrings, we also make 10 balls, but smaller.

Form the petals from the balls with your fingers.

Then we roll up another ball and, pressing it down, we get a pancake. This will be our base where we will attach our petals. Make sure the pancake is the right size.

Form the first level of five petals. Press each petal to the center, attaching it to the bottom of the round base.

Then attach five more petals, forming the next level. To get a more interesting effect, move the petals of the second level relative to the first so that all the petals are visible, as shown in the photo. Make sure all petals are holding well.

Take the prepared core. We have this vintage brooch earring. Try on whether it will fit well in the center. Take her away. You should leave a trace on the flower. After baking the clay, we will place our center here.

Baking polymer clay

Now place the finished product directly with the waxed paper into the oven. Follow manufacturer's polymer clay baking instructions.

Completion

When the product has cooled, cover with glaze on top. First the middle, and then each petal. Let dry.

Then apply a pea-sized superglue to the center of the piece and glue the core of the flower. Let dry.

Using the same glue, glue the special pin for your brooch on the back.

Make sure everything sticks well. Our delicate brooch is ready. By repeating the same steps, you will get beautiful earrings. Now a polymer clay brooch will take its rightful place in your collection of handmade jewelry. Wear them with pleasure!

In this master class, you will learn how to sculpt beautiful flowers and make a bright polymer clay brooch with your own hands.

Plastic jewelry looks very beautiful, lasts a long time, is not afraid of water and does not fade in the sun. The brooch is suitable for decorating clothes or bags. As a basis, you can also take a hair clip or a double universal mount. To prevent fingerprints from being left on the craft, be sure to work with medical gloves. The lesson is suitable for beginners.

Modeling materials

Necessary materials:

  • metal base for a brooch;
  • blade;
  • glue "moment";
  • polymer clay lilac, yellow, brown, green, white.

If you have never worked with plastic, we recommend that you take a closer look at this needlework. Look at other thermoplastic jewelry -, and.

Brooch making step by step

For work, you can choose any basic shade of plastic - make flowers in natural or unusual colors. In this master class, purple is used.

Knead the clay well in your hands so that it becomes soft and pliable. Form a small drop.

Make a scalpel six cuts, dividing the top of the workpiece into identical triangles.

Roll out the petals for a flower brooch.

With a “big ball” stack, smooth all corners and form a recess for the core.

Roll out a small ball of yellow clay, insert the middle of the flower and smooth it with the same stack.

Form looseness with a needle or awl. Special attention give the edges, there should not be a brightly defined line. Also draw veins on the petals.

Insert a small brown piece into the middle of the flower for the brooch and repeat the procedure.

Make a very small white ball and do with it the same way as with yellow and brown.

Cut off the excess mass with a blade.

The first flower is ready, go to the second.

Roll polymer clay into a layer and use special silicone blanks.

Remember to form beautiful wavy transitions.

Make exactly the same middle as in the first case.

It remains to blind the last flower. First we will also form a droplet, but cut it already into five parts. Bend the leaves in a stack and make sharp corners.

Make the middle the same as in the previous two cases. And don't forget to draw the veins.

All three flowers are ready, now proceed to the assembly of the polymer clay brooch. Make a circle from green and pass it through a pasta machine so that it is uniform in thickness. Attach the base of the brooch to one of the sides and print well. This is important in order to subsequently know the place where the fastener needs to be glued.

Place three flowers on the green blank.

Roll out small green sausages, while sharpening one of the edges. Pass the sausages through the pasta machine.

Make a needle friability and veins. You will need three of these leaves, which you attach to each flower.

Then roll out two small petals and use a large stack to bend them slightly inward. Inside, also draw veins and fasten to the free places of the green circle.

A brooch with bright flowers is almost ready. Bake according to the thermoplastic instructions. Glue the metal base with "Moment".

If desired, the decoration can be varnished. And we also have two key fobs - and, also for beginners.
