The GOST 3128-70 pin is a cylindrical or conical rod (GOST 3129-70), which must be inserted into the holes of the parts to be connected for connection. Pins allow you to accurately fix the relative position of the parts. It is possible to use a non-hardened pin on parts subjected to light loads.

Pins are locating and fixing, as well as cylindrical and conical in shape. The working part of the pins can be smooth or perforated (grooves are cut or squeezed out). This avoids reaming the hole and creates a more secure connection that prevents the pin from falling out during operation.

The cylindrical pin holds the parts due to friction or tension. All pins are manufactured with high precision and high surface finish. Holes in the parts to be joined for such pins are drilled and reamed at the same time, for which it is necessary to temporarily fasten the parts.

Non-hardened cylindrical pin GOST 3128-70 can also be used as an adjusting pin. For a more accurate positioning of the parts to be joined, it is necessary to increase the distance between the pins as much as possible.

Usually pins are made of carbon steel or stainless steel.

Symbol example:

Pin 10 x 60 GOST 3128-70

Non-hardened cylindrical pin, version 1, d = 10 mm, L = 60 mm.

Types of pins according to GOST 3128-70

Dimensions for non-hardened pins

* Only for roll pins.
** Only for conical pins (GOST 3129-70).

This standard provides for d = 0.6 ... 50 mm and non-recommended dimensions.
